“On My Way Here” is a narrative mixed textile, paper and found object artwork made in 1998 and then followed by a later work in 2008. The intention was to make another piece in 2018 but that was a difficult year followed by subsequent years of uncertainty.
In 2020, I joined the group – Re-View Textile and made work for Identity and Place which followed on in this documentary reflective narrative style. My piece Home Sweet Home – Lockdown Dome was made during the pandemic. I made several to reflect the homes I had lived in and those of family members but really about protecting and providing a safe space.
These pieces will be shown at Storylines in Heswall Library in February.
