Oxton Art Fair Day 1 proved to be a lovely event with visitors, sales, connections and a great vibe.
My work was bought for gifts to self, for giving to others and from what I could hear will be received by people across the UK and beyond.
I made adjustments for people to alter collar styles and converted earring hooks. People could chose their packaging and pink tissue was a popular choice with both the black and muted green boxes.
Visitors enjoyed hearing about my use of materials and many compliments were given about the work in the foyer including a sale of one piece from the cabinet.
The “Just a Card” campaign prompted me to bring two ranges of cards – my flower series and the Della Robbia piece. Note to self bring more.
The new screen acted as a perfect backdrop for the work – thank you to Karen of Rejiggery for working so hard to complete this and to transform two antique screens that we have had for fifteen years.
The new bauble stands allowed me to spread the baubles out more – giving me a chance to show them as individual pieces as well as suspending together.
The one range that has not had any sales yet are the Dandelions in frames – had made two before in pink and both sold straight away.
Muting the green in my smaller display items and packaging to a more subtle colour allowed variation with the screens and the new boxes have worked very well.
Pleased with my adjustments and confirmation from the public and fellow exhibitors that I had made the right decisions. The relocation to the art room was not expected but glad I did.
We are open today from 10-4pm at the Williamson Art Gallery on Slatey Road near Oxton Village. Go to their website for travel info.
