Yesterday Diana and I met at the Williamson Art Gallery & Museum with Lyndsay and Julia about logistics for Wirral MakeFest for the 3rd of June. Great to chat through the makers list, discuss areas we can use and lots of thinking outside the box and the confines of the gallery building. Great to hear about the Apollo Remastered exhibition starting from the 29th of April and running until the 3rd of September. Very exciting that this will be on during our event Wirral MakeFest 2023 in Galleries 3-6. Our makers will be in Galleries 1 & 2, the outside space at the front, the Green Gallery, foyer and Gallery 11 with a quiet space probably in the shipping gallery which is gallery 8.

Later my artist’s network group Art ON WIRRAL met at Wellington Road Studios, this is the second of our in-person gatherings that we have held in 2023. Basically it is a facebook group of 2500+ and has a small twitter presence. It developed out of the original group “With These Hands” which still exists but now a smaller closed group. Set up in 2009, it was in recognition of the lack of connection that artists had, or lack of opportunities to connect at the time. The monthly meet ups allowed people to meet and chat and include others in projects. Yesterday was wonderful to be able to meet outside at the studio.

Our next session will be with at a new venue, INDIGO in Rock Ferry on the 5th of May at 12 noon. If any visual arts sites would like to host an event please let me know. Sites should be accessible by public transport and able to host 25 people as well as being as easy to access as possible by all.
